Monday, October 22, 2012 —
Brenda Carol Burris Rush, 66 years of age of Locust, departed this earth to be with her Lord at 4:30 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 in Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Mrs. Rush was born March 26, 1946 in Stanly County to the late E. C. and Freda Poplin Burris. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Irvin Burris and her sisters, Annie Belle Bullock, Novillian Shoe, and Frankie Horton.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 20, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral was at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 21, with a 30-minute state prior to the service, at First Baptist Church of Midland, where she was a member. Rev. Tom Gibbs officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.
At other times, the family will meet at the home.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Wayne, of the home; her daughter, Tara Rush Norton and her husband, Sean B.; her granddaughter, Angelica Dawn Page and her fiancé, Billy Moody; two grandsons, Ryan and Nathen Cornett; her great-grandson, Samuel William Moody, Jr.; her sisters, Kathleen Hardister and Diane Whitley; and other very special family members, Andres, Angelia, Eric, Brian, Alex, and Chris Ramirez and Yasmin Ramirez.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 4720 Garmon Mill Road, Midland, NC 28107.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Rush family.
