Doris Kiker Carelock, 88, of Locust, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.
Mrs. Carelock was born October 20, 1924, in Anson County to the late Ira T. and Maude Irene Hudson Kiker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Julian Bascom Carelock in 2000; her sons, Julian Michael and Clyde Dean Carelock; her brothers, Rupert Kiker and Clyde Kiker; and her sister, Violet K. Thomas.
A memorial service was at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland officiated by Rev. Charlie Littlejohn. Burial will follow at Hopewell Methodist Cemetery in Peachland.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Ouida C. McIntyre and her husband Dexter of Stanfield; her grandsons, Derek McIntyre and his wife Elaine of Bladenboro and Dustin McIntyre and his wife Lacie of Midland; her great-grandsons, Riley and Drake McIntyre of Bladenboro; and her sisters, Myrtle Kiker of Charlotte, Beth Ross and her husband Fred of Indian Trail and Mary K. Thomas of Polkton.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
