Monday, December 24, 2012 —
Clara Frances “Fran” Underwood, 79, of Mount Gilead, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Bethany Woods Nursing Home of Albemarle.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 22, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012, in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Jerry Mabry and Rev Donald Ray Johnson. Burial will follow at Norview Gardens.
At other times, the family will meet at the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Underwood was born in Stanly County on July 15, 1933 to the late Homer Lee Carriker and Bertha Ann Almond Carriker. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Brice Leon Underwood in 1998; and two sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Karla Underwood Beasley and husband Alan of Albemarle; one son, Ken Underwood and wife Kate of Florida; seven grandchildren, Morgan Honey-cutt and husband, Jeremy, Ryan Beasley and wife, Whitney, Samuel, Kather-ine, Zachary, Daniel, and Elizabeth Underwood; two great-grandchildren, Riley Brice Honeycutt and Peyton Alan Beasley; one brother, Troy Lee Carriker of Morganton; and two sisters, Peggy Caulder and Faye Blalock, both of Norwood.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Underwood family.
