Thursday, December 6, 2012 — Joseph Edward “Joe” Underwood, 44, of Norwood, passed away Monday evening December 3, 2012.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Mark Swaringen and Rev. Doug Hochmuth officiated and burial followed in Norview Gardens. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m., one hour prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Underwood was born November 15, 1968, in Stanly County to the late James Thomas Underwood Jr, and Ruth Tucker Underwood McMahon, who survives, of Norwood.
He was owner and operator of Underwood Lawn Service and was a member of South Stanly Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Hailey Underwood.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Wendy Hough Underwood of Wadesboro; children, Justin Underwood of Concord and Noah Underwood and Abigail Underwood of Wadesboro; brother, Jimmy Underwood and wife Kim of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; stepfather, Larry McMahon of Norwood; and stepsisters, Kim Thompson and husband John and Tonya Swaringen and husband Mark, all of Norwood.
