Bobby Joe Hinson, 69, of Albemarle, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle.
The family received friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Saturday, December 1, 2012, from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Kevin Munson, was at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at 4 p.m. At other times, the family will meet at his home.
Bobby was born on June 14, 1943, in Albemarle, to the late John Elige Hinson and the late Mattie Jane Smith Hinson. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Purkey; a granddaughter, Stephanie Amanda Efird; four brothers; and a sister.
Mr. Hinson is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Betty Jane Luther Hinson; two daughters, Tammy Jo Hinson Lefler of Albemarle and Robin M. Basinger; six grandchildren, Bobby Goodnight, Jonathan Din-nage, Matthew Dinnage, Krystal Dinnage, Robin Michelle Hurlocker, Bobbie Efird, Marshall Lefler; three great-grandchildren, Courtney Carroll, Kordell Stegall and Christian Blake; six siblings, Billy Hinson and Dorothy Edwards, both of Concord, Geraldine Thompson of Florida, Brenda Osborne of Badin, Janice Williams of Oakboro and Linda Honeycutt of Norwood.
Memorials may be made to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 35235 Pickler Road, Albemarle, NC 28001.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Hinson family.
