Monday, December 10, 2012 —
John Waldo Kendall Jr., 85, surrounded by his loving family, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 6, 2012, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Funeral was at 3 p.m., Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Cottonville Baptist Church. Rev. Alex Willoughy officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday evening, December 8, 2012, at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Mr. Kendall was born October 17, 1927, in Stanly County to the late John Waldo Kendall Sr. and Sarah Janie Huneycutt Kendall.
He was a retiree of the North Carolina Department of Transportation and was a faithful member of Cottonville Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Jenell Broadaway Kendall of the home; daughters, Judy Kendall Kittleson and husband Bruce of Virginia Beach, Va. and Sarah Kendall Bailey and husband Pete of Mooresville; sisters, Ileana Kendall Simpson and Christine Kendall, both of Norwood; three grandchildren, Scott Aaron Kittleson, Jonathan Galen Kittleson and wife Jenny and Emily Jane Kittleson.
