Erlene Hatley Austin, 86, of Albemarle passed away at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2013 in Stanly Manor Nursing Center. Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matthew Laughter, Ronald Harris and Pastor Jimmy Caines offciating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Born Feb. 19, 1926 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late James C. Hatley and Alice Sides Hatley and was a graduate of Badin High School. She was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mills and a member of Plyler Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Brantley Austin on April 4, 2012.
Survivors include daughter Diane A. Harris and husband, Ronald, of Albemarle and grandson, Jonathan R. Harris of Albemarle.
She was preceded in death by brothers Edward Hatley and Robert Hatley, twin sister Geraldine Howell and sisters Lillie Burleson, Stella Hatley and Elsie Luther.
