Thursday, February 7, 2013 — Ruby Faye Whitley Litaker, age 85, of Albemarle, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
The family received friends on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 12:30-2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, Albemarle.
The funeral service followed at 2 p.m. with Rev. Delane Burris and Rev. Gary Pinion officiating. Burial was at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle.
Ruby was born in Stanly County on July 15, 1927, to the late Kelsey Ervin Whitley and the late Ossie Lee Cline Whitley. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert William Litaker, and son, Wayne Litaker.
She is survived by her son, Larry Litaker and wife Linda of Albemarle; her daughter, Janice Blalock and husband Eddie of Albemarle; grandchildren, Brian Blalock and wife Laura, Michael Litaker, Lionel Litaker and friend Nikki, Matt Litaker, Leigh Anne Litaker and friend Smith, all of Albemarle; and great-grandchildren, Justin Blalock and wife Jennifer and Derek Blalock and friend Mattie, all of Albemarle.
Ruby was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She loved her cats and flower garden and was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. Ruby worked at Wiscassett Mills for 46 years.
