Thursday, January 17, 2013 — Addie Smith Morrow, 93, of Mt. Gilead, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Sandy Ridge Memory Care in Candor.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013, in Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mabry and Rev. Carl Burrow officiating. Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Thursday evening, January 17, 2013, from 6-8 p.m.
Born September 9, 1919, in Montgomery County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert A. Smith and Dizia Deberry Smith and was a homemaker.
A member of the Christian faith, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack B. Morrow in 1995.
She is survived by sons, Kenneth B. Morrow and wife Peggy and Mitchell “Mickey” Morrow and wife Judy; and sister, Mozelle Burroughs, all of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren, Alesia M. Brown, Laura Allen, Chad McLean, Cindy Morrow and Scott Morrow; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Yancey Maurice ”Y.M.” Morrow; daughter, Amelia “Millie” McLean; brother, Clarence “O.D.” Smith; sister, Ruby Thompson; and granddaughter, Mitzi Kivett.
