Monday, January 7, 2013 —
Dorothy Phay Willis, 78, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Willis was born on June 21, 1934, in Aragon, Ga., a daughter of the late Otto Wright and Estelle Lemons Wright.
Dorothy received her education in Georgia and Stanly Community College and retired from the Stanly County Department of Social Services as a case manager in 1996. She enjoyed cooking for her family, spending time with family and was always helping family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry L. Willis of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; sons, Anthony M. Puckett of Mississippi, Paul D. “Chip” Puckett and wife Robin of Lyman, S.C., Christopher R. Willis of Kannapolis, Jerry L. Willis Jr. and wife Angela of Albemarle and Michael E. Willis of Albemarle; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held.
