Thursday, January 3, 2013 — Esther Thompson, 75, of Albemarle, died Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Bethany Woods.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Rehobeth Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Dry officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the funeral.
Esther was born in Albemarle on August 27, 1937, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Bessie Carpenter Thompson.
She was a retiree of Britthaven of Piedmont and a member of Rehobeth Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, James Thompson of Albemarle.
Her son wishes to express his thanks to the staff of Woodhaven, Bethany Woods and Hospice for their loving care of his mother.
