Mac Arthur Carpenter


Sunday, September 30, 2007 — Mac Arthur Carpenter, 65, of 12419 NC Hwy. 138, Norwood, died at 10:34 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 at his home.

His service was at 2 p.m. Saturday at his home. The Rev. Aaron Brooks officiated.The family received friends at his home from 1 to 2 p.m.

Born April 26, 1942, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Fred Marshall and Phronia Coley Carpenter and was also preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Belle Almond.

Mac was employed as a doffer with Albemarle Spinning which later became American Fiber and Finishing. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed flowers and gardening. He loved and collected music albums. A baseball fan, he always pulled for the New York Yankees.

He is survived a brother, James Carpenter of Norwood, and a sister, Nancy Lowery of Richfield.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
