Ruth Heglar Lomax, age 90, of Albemarle, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013, at CMC-NorthEast.
The family received friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Saturday, February 9, 2013, from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Todd Galloway, was at Centerview Baptist Church on Sunday, February 10, 2013, at 4 p.m. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
At other times, the family will meet at her home.
Mrs. Lomax was born on November 29, 1922, to the late Daniel Heglar and the late Alice Fraley Heglar. She is also preceded in death by her husband in 1998, Nelson Hartford Lomax; a son, Charles Lomax; three brothers and three sisters.
Ruth is survived by two sons, Gerald Lomax and wife Melinda of Snellville, Ga. and Randy Lomax and wife Linda of Monroe; a daughter, Linda Gilbert and husband Olin of New London; six grandchildren, David, Jeff, Jennifer, Lindsey, Lauren and Haley; eight great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Crystal Lomax Frye of Salisbury.
The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to her caregivers, Patsy Yarbrough and Paula Maurice, for their loving care and support.
