Larry Mitchell Smith, 73, of Stanfield, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013.
Mr. Smith was born February 24, 1939, in Stanly County to the late Roy Sidney Smith and Eva Autie Bell Lambert Smith. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter and three brothers, Jerry, Keith and Clifford Smith.
He worked for B.E. Holbrooks Company and was a member of First Baptist Church in Stanfield.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2013, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service was at 4 p.m. Saturday, January, 12, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Stanfield officiated by Rev. Bruce League. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
At other times, the family will meet at his home.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Louise Elizabeth Tarleton Smith, of the home; his son, Ceb Smith of Stanfield; his brothers, Reese Smith and Gene Smith; his sisters, Leora Furr, Sally Hinson, Diana Smith and Doris Carpenter; his grandchildren, Jamey Love and her husband Jason and Jessica Bowman and her husband Zach; and one great-grandchild, Zack Smith.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Smith family.
