Roger Ted Lowder, 64, of Finger Road, Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Wake Forest University Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
His memorial service was at West Albemarle Baptist Church on Monday, March 11, conducted by his son, Adam Lowder, and brother, Rev. Ed Lowder.
Born May 8, 1948 in Stanly County, he was the son of Verona Smith Lowder of Albemarle and the late Edward Alexander “Ted” Lowder.
He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University Divinity School. Mr. Lowder was a retired Methodist minister and educator.
Survivors include son Adam Ted Lowder and wife, Anne, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter Amy Laine Black of Mt. Pleasant; brothers Rev. George Edward “Ed” Lowder and Pam of Broken Arrow, Okla., and James “Jim” Lowder and wife Barbara of Albemarle; and sister-in-law Cynthia Lowder of Albemarle; three grandchildren, Ryan Hittepole, Callie Lowder and Michael Black.
A brother, Bobby Lowder, preceded him in death.
