Daniel Timothy “Tim” Furr, age 75, of Albemarle, passed away on December 6, 2010 at his home.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be at Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a member, on Thursday at 11 a.m., with a 30 minute state. Elder Larry Austin will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born in Stanly County on December 5, 1935, he was the son of the late John Henry Furr and the late Sarah Cleonia Burris Furr. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Floyd M. Furr, Joseph A. Furr and J. Paulie Furr.
He was a cattle farmer, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Autie Bell Efird Furr of the home; sons, Donnie L. Furr and wife Lynn and Reggie D. Furr, all of Albemarle; daughters, Karen F. Huneycutt and husband Billy of Albemarle and Amy F. Shanes and husband Larry of Concord; brother, Leonard R. Furr; sisters, Rachel F. Liles, Beatrice F. Barrow, Trullie F. Smith, Hazel F. Little and Jane F. Little and husband Jack; grandchildren, Chris and Kristi Furr, Angie and Jerry Hatley, Adam Furr and fiancee Jessica Pope, Jaime and Shane Whitley, Kristin and Brian McLendon, Lauren and TJ Kaminski, Casey Huneycutt, Chloe Shanes, Nathan Shanes and Cooper Shanes; great-grandchildren, Abby Furr, Hannah Furr, Ella Furr, Claire Hatley, Nora Hatley, Cohen Whitley, Camille Whitley, Anna McLendon and Kate McLendon.
