Vernon Alfred Lee, 87, of Norwood, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at The Lutheran Home of Albemarle.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Daryl Sykes, Rev. Nathan Fox and Rev. Doug Hochmuth will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m., prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Lee was born November 27, 1924, in Stanly County, to the late Grover Cleveland and Bessie Thompson Lee. He was a retiree of Stanly Fixtures and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Chloe Virginia Burleson Lee.
He is survived by his son, Buddy Lee and wife Susan of Norwood; daughters, Linda Lee Morris and husband Wayne, Jo Ann Lee Bowers and husband Frank, all of Norwood, and Irene Lee Huneycutt and husband Butch of Albemarle; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
