As a service project for local children, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 520 donated new stuffed animals to pediatric patients at Stanly Regional Medical Center. More than 60 plush animals were collected and will be given to children seen in the Emergency Department and to patients staying overnight on medical/surgical units. The donation was presented to the hospital by Lorie Onesios, Scott Onesios (son of Lorie Onesios), Melinda Miller, Arabella Miller (daughter of Melinda Miller), Renee Turner, Lucille Starnes and Gene Starnes, commander of Post 520.
