Albemarle Police Department arrested a man Tuesday evening a short time after receiving a call for a robbery that was still in progress at The Corner Supermarket.
Albemarle Police Department issued a press release Wednesday afternoon that said Albemarle Police had arrested Ryan Andrew Liles.
Liles, 32, was charged with common law robbery, carrying concealed weapon and communicating threats.
According to the news release, the man entered the store about 7:58 p.m. and police responded by setting up a perimeter in the area.
Stanly County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest with the help of a K9.
A female employee who was working at the store at the time of the arrest was contacted, but chose not to comment on the robbery.
Liles’ bond was set at $75,000, and his first court appearance will be Dec. 10.
