The Stanly County Dental Clinic has received a $75,000 grant from the Cannon Foundation. “We are pleased to receive this funding,” said Dennis Joyner, health director.
“These funds will allow us to serve more children in our dental clinic as well as provide a more private consultation experience for parents and/or guardians.”
The Cannon Foundation funds will be used to equip two additional dental operatories. This will bring the total number of operatories available in the dental clinic to seven.
Services available at the dental clinic include dental exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings, pulp therapies on primary teeth, endodontic care (root canals) and tooth removal. A dental clinic consultation room will also be established.
The Stanly County Dental Clinic provides dental care services to children and youth through age 18; however, new patients must be 12 years old or younger. Children receiving Medicaid or NC Health Choice are eligible for these services. Uninsured children who are at/or below 100 percent of the Federal poverty level are eligible to be enrolled in this clinic.
