Wednesday, February 27, 2013 —
On Feb. 21, Norwood Police Department, with assistance from Stanly County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Christina Ann Dennis of Old Cottonville Road in Norwood for robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the robbery at Norwood Pharmacy on Dec. 10, 2012.
Dennis was also charged with trafficking opium. She is being held at the Stanly County Jail in lieu of $100,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is March 5.

Red Cross plans blood drives
The American Red Cross announces the following blood drives:
June 21 – Richfield Misenheimer Fire Dept., 2:30-6:30 p.m.
June 25 – Locust Presbyterian Church, 2:30-7 p.m.
Blood can be safely donated every 56 days. Most healthy people age 17 and older, or 16 with parental consent, who weigh at least 110 pounds, are eligible to donate blood and platelets.
