An Albemarle man is facing sex offender compliance charges after he failed to register as a convicted offender, according to the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office located and arrested David Keith Hammonds, 32, of 25861 Lingerfelt Road, Albemarle, on April 12, charging him with failure to register as a convicted sex offender.
Hammonds was convicted in Stanly County Superior Court on Feb. 10 for charges of indecent liberties with a child and was required to register as a sex offender within three days of his conviction. He, however, failed to do so.
He was also charged with probation violation and failure to appear. He was issued a $3,500 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in court on April 13.
