Sheriff’s Report

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 — The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity:

• Jason Ray Thomas, of Austin Road, Locust, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of assault on a government official, Nov. 9.

• Richard Dale Morton, of Bear Claw Road, Oakboro, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of assault and battery, Nov. 9.

• Bernice Hunt, of Hwy. 49, New London, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of assault on female and communicating threats, Nov. 9.

• Mark Anthony Whitley, of Bear Creek Church Road, New London, was issued a warrant on a charge of assault on female, Nov. 9.

• Kelli Dawn Bowers, of Atkins Avenue, Norwood, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of worthless check, Nov. 9.

• Bobby Ray Newsome, of Austin Road, Albemarle, reported fraud, Nov. 10.

• Tracy Upright, of Efird Road, Albemarle, reported a breaking and entering and larceny of Nintendo game system, TV, Nintendo games and laptop computer, Nov. 10.

• Douglas Brian Hrynyk, of River Road, Stanfield, reported a breaking and entering and larceny of cash, Nov. 10.

• Jon-Eric Vincent Earnhardt, of Deland Drive, Norwood, reported a breaking and entering and larceny of laptop computer and pistols, Nov. 10.

• Lisa Elizabeth Preslar, of East Main Street, Albemarle, reported a breaking and entering and larceny of jacket and cigarettes, Nov. 8.

• Barbara Gail Brumley, of U.S. 52 South, Albemarle, reported the larceny of a wallet and vehicle being taken without permission, Nov. 11.

• Michael Ray Barbee, of Poplar Lane, Albemarle, was arrested on a charge of possession schedule VI and second degree trespass, Nov. 6.

• Penny Shelton Neely, of Old Aquadale Road, Norwood, was issued a warrant on a charge of fraud, conversion, Nov. 11.

• Jason Ray Thomas, of Austin Road, Locust, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, Nov. 10.

• Derek Lane Almond, of Hazelwood Drive, Albemarle, was issued a citation for possession alcohol under 21, Nov. 10.

• Cynthia McCarver Owen, of South Main Street, Albemarle, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of going armed to the terror of the public, Nov. 10.

• Joshua J. Chambliss, of Canton Road, Albemarle, was issued a warrant on a charge of felony larceny and unauthorized use of motor vehicle, Nov. 11.

• Shane Lee Eudy, of Wayne Drive, Albemarle, was issued a warrant on a charge of assault by pointing gun and simple assault, Nov. 10.

• Bill Ray Aldridge, of South Stanly School Road, Norwood, reported a breaking and entering, Nov. 12.

• Kerry Eugene Snuggs, of T.E. White, Albemarle, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, Nov. 13.

• Fasto Diez Omar McLendon, of Lee Road, Norwood, was issued a warrant on a charge of assault inflicting serious injury, Nov. 12.

• Joseph Michael Preslar, of Chip Road, Albemarle, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of first degree sex offense, first degree kidnapping and indecent liberties, Nov. 13.

• Jason Ray Thomas, of Austin Road, Locust, was issued warrants on charges of malicious castration, possession of firearm by felon and attempted first degree murder, Nov. 12.

• Michael Dell Bowers, of Carters Acres Road, Albemarle, reported a breaking and entering, Nov. 14.

• Jefrey Majeed Khan, of Ledbetter Road, New London, reported damage to a vehicle, Nov. 13.

• Gregory Allen Pigg, of Fireline Road, Albemarle, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, Nov. 15.

• Jason Matthew Moore, of Deerwood Drive, Stanfield, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of communicating threats, Nov. 15.

• Daniel Lee Hill, of Rene Ford Road, Stanfield, was arrested on a charge of assault on a female, Nov. 13.

• Brittney Marteese Bennett, of Hwy. 740, Badin, was issued a warrant on a charge of simple assault, Nov. 14.

• Amanda Leeann Stirewalt, of Dogwood Lane, New London, was issued a warrant on a charge of injury to personal property, Nov. 13.

• Eric Lewis Gallimore, of Arrowhead Road, Norwood, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of probation violation, Nov. 15.

• Jeremiah Nile Johnson, of Old Parker Road, Albemarle, was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Nov. 12.

• Shane Carl Stanley, of Robert Drive, Stanfield, was issued a citation for possession alcohol under 21, Nov. 13.

• John Clayton Hartsell, of Big Bear Road, Albemarle, was issued a citation for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol under 21, Nov. 13.

• Anita Brickman, of N.C. 24-27, Oakboro, reported obtaining property by false pretense, Nov. 16.

• Randy Shue, of Bear Creek Church Road, New London, reported the larceny of bicycles, Nov. 16.

• Tom Luther Troutman Jr., of Clodfelter Road, Albemarle, reported fraud, Nov. 16.

  • Pedestrians, motorists urged to be cautious at Pfeiffer

    A Pfeiffer University student had a brush with death when crossing the road on Wednesday.
    According to Misenheimer Police Chief Tracey Wyrick, the student assumed that an approaching vehicle would stop as a courtesy. This misunderstanding led to the student nearly being struck.

    A local teacher has won one of the highest education awards in the state.
    John Thompson, a business education teacher at West Stanly High School (WSHS), recently received the Orus B. Sutton Award, which is presented to the Outstanding Business and Information Technology Teacher of the Year in North Carolina.
