Mark Your Calendars today and plan to attend the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce’s PRIME TIME Business After Hours event at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center on March 21.
This will the best attended after hours event this year and will provide terrific networking opportunities for all, as we honor all of our new members that were recruited in 2012. Current Chamber members and the public will be able to meet these new members and see the displayed goods and services that they have to offer. It will be a great way to build personal and business relationships, and gain new customer contacts.
All of this will be gathered around a theme of “March Mania,” celebrating the basketball tournament season. We will provide free hot dogs, beverages, and other snacks, along with many door prizes throughout the evening. This event is free to all and will be held at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center, 26032 Newt Road in Albemarle. It will be held from 4:30 to 7 PM.

Stanly Early College has graduation
Thirty-four Stanly Early College students walked across the stage to receive their diplomas May 14.

Stanly Community College conducts commencement
On May 15, Stanly Community College (SCC) celebrated its 42nd commencement day to honor and recognize the achievements of all the graduates. Three separate ceremonies were conducted at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center to accommodate nearly 2,000 students, family and friends that gathered to witness their loved ones receive their degrees, diplomas and certificates.

Safe Kids Stanly County offers safety tips for land, water
In honor of National Kids Safety Day, Safe Kids Stanly County had a Safe Kids Day Saturday morning in front of All 4 Fun Inflatables in Albemarle. The event was from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and featured an array of informational services provided by volunteers from different organizations from around the county who are a part of the Safe Kids Stanly County Coalition.

Community joins for Day of Prayer
Residents and officials bowed their heads in prayer Thursday afternoon in observance of the National Day of Prayer. In Stanly County, events were conducted at noon in the cities of Locust and Albemarle, and in the town of Oakboro.

The UPS Store joins Chamber of Commerce
The UPS Store, at 656-5 N.C. 24-27 East, celebrated joining the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce April 26 by snipping a length of large red ribbon. Friends, family, supporters and Chamber representatives joined owners Greg and Paula Dorko for the event.
