Friday, December 28, 2012 —
A New London man has been charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering.
Derrick Joseph Peszat, 28, of 36211 Nugget Road, New London, was arrested Dec. 17.
The arrest came after the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a breaking and entering to an outbuilding on Hearne Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, after several hours the victim was able to locate a possible suspect.
Detectives arrived and were able to recover the property valued at $400 that had been allegedly stolen the previous night from the possession of Peszat.
He was arrested and charged then taken to the Stanly County Jail and placed under a $5,000 secured bond.
His initial court appearance wil be Dec. 31 in District Court.
