Sunday, March 14,2010 — A Davidson County man who robbed the First Bank location in Richfield at knife point has received more charges and an increased bond.
Jason Michael Hilton, 30, of 264 A.R. Morris in Denton, was arrested by Stanly County Sheriff's deputies on Monday in Davidson County not long after he robbed the bank just before noon on March 8, leaving with an undisclosed amount of money. After the word spread about the robbery, Hilton was apprehended by Davidson County authorities until he was picked up by Stanly County Sheriff's deputies and taken to the Detention Center, where he currently remains.
The secured bond Hilton had initially received has been increased from $100,000 to $150,000.
Six counts of kidnapping were added to the charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a weapon by convicted felon.
Hilton will appear in court on April 5. No one was injured during the incident.
