Stanly Community College (SCC) has begun the annual Student Emergency Fund Drive in conjunction with the holiday season.
The Student Emergency Fund is a resource that helps students who may find themselves in difficult financial situations.
The 2012 Student Emergency Fund Drive began Nov. 28. This year’s college goal is $10,000 and the deadline for donations is Dec. 17.
“There are so many students that find themselves in situations where they need financial assistance,” said Janet Sistare, SCC Foundation director.
“We want to provide solutions for our students who may find themselves in need of a little act of kindness and financial support to get them through a tough situation. Our goal is to ensure students continue their education, no matter what obstacles they encounter. That’s what our emergency fund is set up to do.
“Please consider a tax deductible gift to the Student Emergency Fund this holiday season.”
