Thursday, December 25, 2008 — Stanly County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity:

Susann C. Burris, of Bridge Road, Mt. Pleasant, reported the breaking and entering of a vehicle and larceny, Dec. 12.

Ashley Nichole Sweet, of Porter Hill Road, Norwood, reported a breaking and entering and trespass, Dec. 12.

North Stanly High School, U.S. 52, New London, reported a breaking and entering and larceny, Dec. 12.

Fast Stop, N.C. 73, Albemarle, reported a larceny, Dec. 13.

Leigh Ann Lowery, of Rocky River Road, Oakboro, reported a dog being shot, Dec. 13.

Dallas Jacinto Morrison, of N.C. 138, Norwood, reported a breaking and entering and larceny, Dec. 14.

Joyce Fisher Ross, of Caudle Road, Richfield, reported a breaking and entering and damage to property, Dec. 14.

Timothy James Clark, of Rogers Road, Albemarle, reported a larceny and damage to property, Dec. 15.

Marlykena Jane Riley, of Hinson Parker Road, New London, reported a breaking and entering and larceny, Dec. 16.

Erica Jean Hardin, of Carter Acres Road, Albemarle, reported an assault and communicating threats, Dec. 16.

Jamey Terence Evans, of Herrin Grove Road, Mt. Pleasant, reported damage to a vehicle, Dec. 16.

Darrell Eber Patton, of Gurley Road, New London, reported a larceny, Dec. 16.

Fleshia Danielle Kimrey, of Old Aquadale Road, Albemarle, reported the larceny of a dog, Dec. 22.

Sue Hathcock Stogner, of Griffin Greene Blvd., Stanfield, reported the larceny of gas, Dec. 22.

Heath Alexander West, of Pee Dee Avenue, Norwood, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, Dec. 12.

Christopher Douglas Davenport, of Rocky River Springs Road, Norwood, was issued a warrant on a charge of communicating threats, damage to real property, assault and battery, Dec. 15.

Bryan Dale Gordon, of Millingport Road, Locust, was issued a warrant on a charge of second degree trespass, Dec. 15.

Jason Adam Hiatt, of Carters Acre Road, Albemarle, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault on female and communicating threats, Dec. 16.

Patricia Ann Vanhoose, of Talley Road, Stanfield, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of worthless check, Dec. 16.

Margaret Griffin Honeycutt, of Wilson Lane, Oakboro, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of worthless check, Dec. 16.

ShCarly Danielle Dunn, of Kenwood Drive, Locust, was issued a warrant on a charge of failure to appear, Dec. 17.

Sherry Blalock Hudson, of Edgewood Apts., Albemarle, was issued a warrant on a charge of simple assault, Dec. 17.

Billie Renee Izaguirre, of Hwy. 200, Stanfield, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of worthless check, Dec. 21.

Larry Wayne Hatley, of N.C. 24-27, Locust, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of worthless check, Dec. 21.

Steven ONeil Woody, of Chip Road, Albemarle, was issued a warrant on a charge of assault and battery, Dec. 21.

Matthew Stanley McNeil, of White Oak Avenue, Albemarle, was issued a citation for a revoked license, Dec. 13.

    Rides, games, music and more hit the Stanly County Fairgrounds tonight in the form of the 76th annual Stanly County Fair, sponsored by  American Legion Post 76. This year, the rides will be put on by J&J Amusements.

    With donations still coming in, the school tools campaign has been deemed a success according to Pokie Noland, Stanly County Schools director of student services.

  • Pedestrians, motorists urged to be cautious at Pfeiffer

    A Pfeiffer University student had a brush with death when crossing the road on Wednesday.
    According to Misenheimer Police Chief Tracey Wyrick, the student assumed that an approaching vehicle would stop as a courtesy. This misunderstanding led to the student nearly being struck.

    A local teacher has won one of the highest education awards in the state.
    John Thompson, a business education teacher at West Stanly High School (WSHS), recently received the Orus B. Sutton Award, which is presented to the Outstanding Business and Information Technology Teacher of the Year in North Carolina.
