Tuesday, September 23, 2008 — The Stanly County Public Library is providing more free access to the Internet.
In addition to the existing free WiFi hotspots at the main branch in Albemarle and Locust, free WiFi hotspots are now available at the Badin, Norwood and Oakboro branches.
Now, no matter which branch of the library you are visiting, you will have access to a free WiFi hotspot.
Anyone can bring their wireless-enabled laptops, notebooks or other mobile devices to any library branch and have free, instant access to the World Wide Web. Please be aware that printing is not available when using the free WiFi network.
“Through the generosity and funding of our county commissioners, we are more than pleased we can offer this free access to the World Wide Web at all our locations,” said Library Director Penny Welling.
“More members of our society are expecting access to the Internet, wherever they are. By having WiFi hotspots at all our locations, the citizens of Stanly County now have increased access to the unique resources the World Wide Web has to offer.”
The Stanly County Public Library consists of the main branch in downtown Albemarle and branches in Badin, Locust, Norwood and Oakboro.
