• Albemarle High School - Aug. 21, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room (320) (first time freshmen only, required), 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (new students outside of freshmen)
• Albemarle Middle School - Aug. 21, 5-7 p.m.
• Aquadale Elementary School - Aug. 21, 12-1 p.m. and 5-6 p.m.
• Badin Elementary School- Aug. 21, 4-6 p.m.
• Central Elementary School- Aug. 21, 12-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
• East Elementary School - Aug. 21, 4-6 p.m.
• Endy Elementary School - Aug. 21, 4-6 p.m.
• Kendall Valley Elementary School- Aug. 21, 4-6 p.m.
• Locust Elementary School- Aug. 21, 5-7 p.m.
• Millingport Elementary School- Aug. 21, 5-7 p.m.
• New London Choice Middle School - Aug. 21, 1-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
• North Albemarle Elementary School - Aug. 21, 9-9:45 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m.
• North Stanly High School - Aug. 21, 6-8 p.m.
• Norwood Elementary School - Aug. 20 - 1-7 p.m.
• Oakboro Elementary School- Aug. 21, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

• Stanly Early College - Aug. 4, 9-3 p.m.

57 nursing homes win enhancement grants
Gov. Bev Perdue announced Jan. 19 that 57 North Carolina nursing homes are receiving grant funds totaling more than $640,000 that will be used to improve facilities to the benefit of their residents.

Sheriff’s Office arrests 2 on B&E charges
