Tuesday, May 20, 2008 — Gary Lynch Jr. was boxing by age 12, he went professional less than a year ago at age 20 and on Wednesday he will appear in his national TV debut in a title fight.
Known as the “Young Assassin,” the Albemarle product went pro in August and has taken his style of speed and toughness into the ring every time with nothing short of conviction.
“Boxing is a sport that, if you’re in it, it’s because you’re passionate about it. You want to be the best in the gym,” Lynch said shortly before his pro debut.
Catch Lynch’s match on ESPN 2 Wednesday night.
