Tuesday, April 10, 2007 — Officer Jeff Shelton, 35, and Officer Sean Clark, 34, will be honored and memorialized with revitalized community parks.
That is, if nationally syndicated radio personality show hosts Ace and T.J. have anything to say about it.
The duo is known for working to improve the lives of those around them.
They have a goal to build a playground and memorial by re-building and reinvigorating the old “City of Locust Park.”
Shelton, a Locust resident, was with Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) for 6 years. Clark joined the department in January 2006.
Shelton is survived by his wife. Clark is survived by his wife, 2 year old son and an unborn child.
Investigators have taken one suspect into custody charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
The suspect, Demetrius Montgomery, 25, has an extensive arrest record dating back to 1998.
It includes assault on a female, resisting arrest, and communicating threats.
Ace is also the front man for Charity Case, a band that raises money for another of the pair’s service organizations, Grin Kids, a non-profit organization the team set up to enhance the lives of children who are terminally ill or chronically handicapped.
