Stanly County Sheriff’s Report

Thursday, July 2, 2009 — The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity:

• Joyce Ann Whitley, of Joy Road, Stanfield, reported the larceny from a vehicle, June 19.

• Ashley Marie McCorrister, of McNeil Road, Albemarle, reported damage to a windshield, June 20.

• Fat Cat Customs, N.C. 24-27 West, Albemarle, reported the breaking and entering of a vehicle and larceny of radio and wheels, June 20.

• Brittany Nicole Orndorff, of McSwain Road, Albemarle, reported a breaking and entering, June 21.

• Christopher Stephen Sarif, of Rockhole Road, Stanfield, reported the breaking and entering of a vehicle, larceny of a firearm and damage to a vehicle, June 22.

• Bennie Joel Burleson, of Canton Road, Albemarle, reported a vehicle theft, June 23.

• Michael Wayne Hartsell, of Lee-Furr Road, Norwood, reported a breaking and entering and damage to a door, June 24.

• Willie Anthony Allen, of Gaddys Ferry Road, Norwood, reported the larceny of a mailbox and post, June 24.

• Marco Garcia Garca Vega, of Loop Road, Norwood, reported a breaking and entering and larceny, June 25.

• April Walker Vanhoy, of Wood Street, Albemarle, was issued a citation for a revoked license and speeding, June 2.

• Kathy Carver, of Ingram Road, New London, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of worthless check, June 19.

• Christy Lynn Gainey, of N.C. 49, Richfield, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 19.

• Homer Gerald Henderson, of Harper Hearne Road, New London, was issued a warrant on a charge of assault by pointing gun and intimidating witness, June 19.

• Ashley Michelle Coble, of Heaven Lane, Oakboro, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 19.

• William Gregory McCulloh, of Log Cabin Trail, Stanfield, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 19.

• Derek Sinatra Goode, of Colson Street, Albemarle, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 20.

• William Leemar Miller, of Halfway Road, Norwood, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 21.

• Brandon Harrison Hinson, of Summitt Street, Locust, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 21.

• Marc John Green Jr., of St. Onge Road, Stanfield, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 21.

• Aaron Demetruis Richardson, of Moss Lane, New London, was issued a criminal summons on a charge of second degree trespass, June 22.

• Kissy Dewrene Oxendine, of South Bell Avenue, Albemarle, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 22.

• Titus Timothy McLendon, of Roosevelt Street, Badin, was issued a warrant on a charge of breaking and entering and larceny, June 23.

• Albert Eugene Phillips, of Lake Tillery Road, Albemarle, was arrested on a charge of simple possession and drug paraphernalia and RDO, June 23.

• Kevin Lamont Cagle, of Brown Avenue, Albemarle, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 24.

• William Hartwell Barrett Jr., of Brickyard Road, Norwood, was issued a warrant on a charge of assault on a female, June 24.

• Earl Wayne Kluttz, of Claymon Road, Oakboro, was issued a citation for NDL and expired registration, June 25.

• Tommy Ray Page, of Providence Street, Locust, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 25.

• Royce White, of Running Creek Church Road, Locust, reported the larceny of jewelry, June 26.

• Mary Long Hibbs, of Prince Road, Norwood, reported fraud, June 26.

• David Dale Forrest, of Parker Road, Albemarle, reported a breaking and entering and larceny, June 27.

• Eric Lee Delsanto Sr., of Dry Road, Albemarle, reported the unauthorized use of a vehicle, June 28.

• Katrina Marie Acree, of Ridgecrest Road, Locust, reported a breaking and entering and larceny, June 29.

• Joshua Ryan Myers, of Blake Road, Albemarle, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 25.

• Elisa Dawn Gilmer, of Main Street, New London, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 26.

• Joshua Reid Ussery, of Quail Trail Road, Norwood, was issued a warrant on a charge of simple assault, June 26.

• Ashley Nicole Sweet, of Tom Road, Albemarle, was arrested on a charge of assault, June 26.

• Daniel Mark Medlin, of Tom Road, Albemarle, was arrested on a charge of assault on a female, June 26.

• Matthew Lawrence Rehberg, of Old Mill Road, Stanfield, was issued a warrant on a charge of common law robbery, June 26.

• Brandi Nicole Wheeler, of Jungle Road, Stanfield, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 26.

• Wendy Lee Furr, of Danita Drive, Locust, was issued an order for arrest on a charge of failure to appear, June 26.

• George James Brown III, of U.S. 52 North, Albemarle, was issued a warrant on a charge of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and/or deliver schedule II, traffic opium/heron, conspire traffic opium, June 26.

    Rides, games, music and more hit the Stanly County Fairgrounds tonight in the form of the 76th annual Stanly County Fair, sponsored by  American Legion Post 76. This year, the rides will be put on by J&J Amusements.

  • Even though deadline has passed, SCS still accepts donations

    With donations still coming in, the school tools campaign has been deemed a success according to Pokie Noland, Stanly County Schools director of student services.

  • Pedestrians, motorists urged to be cautious at Pfeiffer

    A Pfeiffer University student had a brush with death when crossing the road on Wednesday.
    According to Misenheimer Police Chief Tracey Wyrick, the student assumed that an approaching vehicle would stop as a courtesy. This misunderstanding led to the student nearly being struck.

    A local teacher has won one of the highest education awards in the state.
    John Thompson, a business education teacher at West Stanly High School (WSHS), recently received the Orus B. Sutton Award, which is presented to the Outstanding Business and Information Technology Teacher of the Year in North Carolina.

  • Committee discusses renovations to school facilities

    Many of the local schools will be getting a makeover this school year. In its meeting last week, the Stanly County Board of Education Facilities Committee discussed specific renovations to the schools.
