Over the next week, people in Stanly County are going to have important decisions to make about the future of our county, state and country. In the race for Congress, there is no better choice than Richard Hudson.
I’ve known Richard for many years, and know he’s a man of character who will work relentlessly to bring jobs to Stanly County. He’s worked for years in the 8th District and he’s exactly the kind of representative we need in Washington – now more than ever.
Larry Kissell’s had four years to help turn things around, but all we’ve been left with are more government regulations, a $700 billion cut to Medicare and an unemployment rate still at 10 percent. We need someone representing us in Congress who knows that small businessess will lead us to economic prosperity – not more government spending.
Richard Hudson is a man of principle who will fight every day for the 8th District. I ask you to join me in voting for him on Nov. 6.

Applauding the commissioners
In response to the recent article by Brian Graves regarding Clean Tech, I think that our county commissioners should be commended for their stand against Clean Tech’s offering jobs in exchange for Alcoa to be relicensed to operate the hydro dams on the Yadkin-Pee Dee.

Budget tips
The government has a problem with the budget. Why? The Republicans and the Democrats blame one another. Why? Don’t they both spend the money? Foolishly.
