Sunday, February 14, 2010 — Although I am much later than I should be in writing this letter, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the good people who make the effort to help the elderly. My husband and I are both in our 80s, and we have benefited directly from such kindness. A few specific acts that come to mind are people holding doors for us and helping us load our groceries into our car.
I would especially like to thank the two ladies who helped me get my husband into the car when his legs gave out while we shopped at a local dollar store. Another special thanks goes out to the kind lady who brings our paper to our door each morning.
We also feel blessed to have our three children and their spouses living close by. They are wonderful in their caring for us. It is their care and helpfulness that is allowing my husband and I to continue living in our own home -- and for now, this is a very good and meaningful thing to us.
May God bless each and every one of these people, and may he also bless others who perform similar acts of kindness.

Tired of all the lies
The people of Stanly County have been lied to and are unknowingly spreading those same lies regarding ALCOA and the Stanly County Commissioners. The only way to find the correct solution to the re-licensing is for the truth to be told.
