Locke’s Militia to hold war encampment
Locke’s Militia will set up a Revolutionary War encampment at the Kron House grounds in Morrow Mountain State Park. The camp will be open to the public on Nov. 19, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Nov. 20, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Members of Locke’s Militia will be camping and living as soldiers did during the Revolutionary War.
They will describe life as an 18th century soldier and take questions from visitors.
Join Locke’s Militia at the Kron House and learn about this critical period of American History. -
Monarch to hold Craft Show
Monarch will host its second annual Craft Show from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 19 at Monarch’s Stanly Industrial Services, 730 Greenwood St., Albemarle. Items offered will be handmade crafts, woodworking, pocketbooks, jewelry, candy apples, funnel cakes, hot dogs and inflatables.
A photographer will be on site for Christmas pictures. No admission fee.
Please bring a canned food item to donate to Christian Ministries. There will be a free gift to the first 50 shoppers.

Senior Center trips are open to the public; there are no age requirements. If you have never traveled with us, we invite you to join us! All trips are taken on a deluxe motorcoach. For individuals who have never been on this type bus, you have a captains chair, often times a foot rest, reclining seat, TVs to play movies and the bus does have a restroom.
