Uwharrie Youth Arts is sponsoring a Holiday Dance-A-Thon from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Dec. 10 at Albemarle Academy of Dance, 26810 Ross Drive, Albemarle. There will dancing, games, concessions and prizes for top fundraisers. A $25 registration fee includes two slices of pizza and drink. This is open to grades K-8.
Bring a new or gently used coat and receive a ticket for free concessions and be entered into our drawing for a new Ipod Nano.
Proceeds benefit the Uwharrie Youth Arts which is dedicated to increasing awareness and involvement of youth in performing arts in Stanly and surrounding counties. It strives to connect and engage youth, educators and families to the performing arts in innovative, meaningful and participatory ways.

Cartoon techniques with Marcus Hamilton

He has been the cartoonist for the daily panels of “Dennis the Menace” since about 1996. The cost is $25 for adults. The workshop is appropriate for all ages and children can attend with a paying adult for an additional $10.
