Grace Huneycutt won a gold medal for her presentation at the North Carolina State 4-H horse presentation competition. She presented in the 9- to 10-year-old division on the topic of “How to Fall Off Your Horse” in Raleigh July 11.
Grace is the daughter of Randy and Rebecca Huneycutt and is a sixth grader at North Stanly Middle School. She has participated in 4-H for four years and is the secretary of the Country Riders 4-H Club.
She has been riding for five years and enjoys pleasure rides with her horse Buttercup.
The 4-H program is the youth education program of North Carolina Cooperative Extension, based at North Carolina State and North Carolina A&T State Universities. Stanly County 4-H is a United Way funded agency.

Pfeiffer University announces that Stephen Ray Mitchell, M.D., M.A.C.P., F.A.A.P., F.A.C.R., dean for medical education and professor of medicine and pediatrics at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, D.C., will offer the commencement address at spring 2013 commencement exercises at 10:30 a.m. May 11 in Merner Gym, Misenheimer campus.
