Among the first to graduate from Stanly Community College’s Digital Photogra-phy program last summer were David Furr, Kathy Harwood, Christi Tucker and Brenda Todd, all of whom have begun putting their knowledge and talent to good use.
David Furr’s images of Badin Inn were published in the 2012 Discover Stanly County Magazine.
Kathy Harwood and her sister Christi Tucker are forming their own photography business.
Brenda Todd donates her time and talent to deserving families.
Students from the current Digital Photography class are scheduled to receive their certificates in June 2013.
Among those students, Jackie Smith and Dorothy Bolton have both received accolades for their work.
Jackie Smith’s landscape photo “Swift Island Bridge Hurricane Irene” was chosen to be displayed in the Community Photography Gallery at Carolina’s Medical Center Northeast. Her photography can be found locally at Falling Rivers Gallery in downtown Albemarle.
Dorothy Bolton received a 20x30 metallic canvas print from HD Photo Lab for winning the 2012 Photography Destination shoot out.
