Locust News

Thursday, February 4, 2010 — Locust City Council will have its February meeting on Feb. 11.

Turkey Shoots

Turkey shoots will be from 7-10 p.m. Feb. 6 and Feb. 20 at West Stanly Fire Department Station 2 on Love Mill Road, Stanfield.

Youth baseball/softball

Registration will continue through Feb. 19. Cost to register is $55 for residents and $70 for non-residents and includes umpire fees, uniform and administration. You may register Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Locust Parks & Recreation Center Office from 4-7:30 p.m. or at City Hall, Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (Wednesday 8 a.m.-12 p.m.). Games will begin late March and end in June.

Adult softball leagues

Registration for Adult All Men & All Women League will continue through Feb. 26 at Locust Parks & Recreation Center Office Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 4-7:30 p.m. Cost for the league will be $360. Teams will provide their own balls. All teams must be paid in full by first game.

BBQ

Locust Elementary will have its 4th annual barbecue on Feb 22 at Locust School Gym. Serving will be from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
