Sunday, December 23, 2007 — Norwood residents now have a convenient location to pay their power bills.
Sherry Aldridge Broome began Creative Energy as a way to offer Norwood residents and others a place to pay their power and phone bills after the loss of a previous location.
“I needed a job and, being a graphic arts graduate, I hoped my jewelry (handmade) and crafts, along with some friends’ wares, just might sell as well. Thus, the name ‘Creative’ Energy,” Broome said.
Payments for several other billers, including Wind-stream, Duke Power, Alltel Wireless, Verizon Wireless, Piedmont Natural Gas, Progress Energy, Embarq (Sprint) and AT&T; (Cingular) may also be made at the store for a small fee.
Broome has added fine jewelry, candles, gifts, silk florals, mist fountains and more, to the retail end of the business.
“Of course, being a very new business, I am not making any money — but I’m here to serve the people and in service to God,” Broome said.
Creative Energy, 115 N. Main St., Norwood, is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
