Stanly County Chorale will present a program of seasonal music titled “A Candlelight Christmas” at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 16-17 in the Magnolia Room at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Musical selections on the program will include “SIR CHRISTÈMAS” by William Mathias; “Mid-winter” by Bob Chilcott; “Candlelight Carol” and “The Very Best Time Of Year” by English composer John Rutter; “Go Where I Send Thee” by André Thomas; a medley of Irving Berlin songs from the 1954 musical film “White Christmas”; and “Mary’s Little Boy Child” by Jester Hairston.
The Stanly County Chorale is under the direction of Joseph Judge, director of choral and vocal music and assistant professor of music at Pfeiffer University. He earned his BA degree from Pfeiffer College in 1987 and his MM degree in Vocal Performance/Pedagogy from the University of Colorado in 1997.
The chorale’s accompanist is Dr. Steven Mowery. He is the Service Organist at Dilworth United Methodist Church in Charlotte and serves as Adjunct Faculty to the Music Department at Pfeiffer University, where he is also employed in the Registrar’s Office.
Tickets have been pre-sold for a buffet dinner, which begins at 6:30, for those who have reservations.
The 7:15 p.m. concert is presented free to the public.
This project is supported by the Stanly County Arts Council and the Grassroots Arts Program of the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency.

Mission Baptist Church, Stanfield and First Baptist Church of Locust will sponsor a egg hunt at 10 a.m. March 23 at Locust Town Hall in Locust. Rain date will be March 30 at 10 a.m.
