Albemarle, NC – Stanly Community College (SCC) held a Career Fair on Tuesday, February 28th in the Webb Student Center.
The organizer of this year’s event, Delia Carriker, stated, "It was great to once again host a career fair at Stanly Community College. We received excellent response from employers, many of which had positions available to fill. It was wonderful to form new relationships with some employers in the community, while continuing to receive support from many friends of the college. Above all, the career fair provided students and community members with the opportunity to make connections that will benefit them in their professional careers.”
SCC President, Dr. Brenda Kays added, “I am grateful for the support of the employers who attended the SCC Career Fair. Our students were exposed to a number of different career fields and had the opportunity to dialog with perspective employers.”
There were 23 employers at the event and more than 125 job seekers which included students and community members. Dr. Kays commented, “These types of experiences are invaluable for our students seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce. Many thanks to all who participated and helped to make this event such a success!”
