Stanly County 4-H will offer ornamentals, fruit plants and bulbs for sale this fall. This is a new sale and is a fundraiser to support the Stanly County 4-H program. Funds will be used to support 4-H activities for youth ages 5-19.
This is the first time bulbs have been offered for sale and will feature tulips, irises, narcissi and hyacinths. Also offered are one gallon containers of blueberries featuring rabbiteye varieties: premier, tifblue, climax, powder blue and columbus. Southern highbush variety available is o’neal.
Check out the ornamental section of the brochure. Ornamentals are in three gallon containers. There are azaleas, camellia, crepe myrtles, figs, forsythia, gardenia, hydrangeas, ligustrum, nandina and knockout roses.
To help prepare your landscape for planting, pick up a soil sample box at the local extension office. Take your soil sample and mail it to Raleigh and the results will be emailed to you.
Order dates are through Sept. 24. Place an order by calling (704) 983-3987, fax (704) 983-3303, email to lisa_mauldin@ ncsu.edu or mail to Stanly County 4-H, 26032 E. Newt Road, Albemarle, NC 28001. The deadline to accept orders will be Sept. 24.
Orders will be available for pickup on Oct. 10 at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center.
Payment for your order may be made when placed or at the time of pickup. Payment can be made by check, cash, or credit/debit cards (Master Card/Visa).
