The ninth annual Outdoorsman’s Bonanza will be March 31. The prize package is the largest ever, with more than $150,000 in prizes to be given away.

Park to close trails for construction

Morrow Mountain State Park will close its equestrian trails for several months in 2012 to allow for rehabilitation of hazardous trail sections. The park also will implement an inclement weather closure system for its 16-mile equestrian trail network upon completion of the project, according to the N.C. Division of Parks and Recreation.

CFC employees, board donate to charities

More than $4,300 was collected by the employees and board members of Carolina Farm Credit who participated in a charity contribution throughout 2011. Each of the Carolina Farm Credit 36 service centers submitted a local charity choice and four charities were selected through a random drawing to divide the donations.
