Contributed photo (Above) Marko, who was a K-9 deputy under Sheriff Tony Frick from 2000-2007, died recently at the age of 13. He was on the S.W.A.T. team and a member of the N.C. Police Dog Association. He retired in 2007 and spent the last three and a half years living in Concord.
