Rowan Top Stanly in Game 3

Tuesday, July 14, 2009 — The Rowan County Legion squad rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win Game Three of their playoff series 9-3 over Stanly County. More details will be in Tuesday's Stanly News and Press.

USAR Reunites

The men and women of the 227th Medium Truck Company of the United States Army Reserve (USAR) met on Saturday for a reunion on the grounds of the Army Reserve Training Center on East Main Street in Albemarle, which was followed by lunch. Organized by James Jackson, a number of lieutenants and commanders were also on hand to reflect on old times and memories from past years
